I have a *huge* bugbear about the lack of female speakers at the majority of events I attend. My main fear at raising this with event organisers is that they'll counter with "well which female speaker would you recommend then clever clogs?" ... at which point my mind will probably go completely blank. So I've decided to start compiling a small database of female speakers I've had the privilege of hearing - to celebrate their collective bravery at stepping up and making their voices heard.
I believe we all have something unique to say and if we're always in the audience and never on stage then we're letting other people speak on our behalf. Hopefully the women here will inspire me to step up and speak in public - in fact I've challenged myself to do just that in the next 12 months ... does anyone else want to join me?
